quoteIt was so great to be among so many good people. It was an experience I will always remember and treasure. I enjoyed each and every workshop and ritual I participated in. I know one thing for sure, the NOX raised my Kundalini and we all raised Baphomet.” – Kay

DAY WORKSHOP

The NOX ritual is a highly stylised rite, incorporating a number of practices drawn from the Middle-East as well as the Western Mystery Traditions. These include dances from the Sufi (also called Dervish), a practice of whirling as well as chanted mantra inspired from the Thelemic magickal text Liber AL.

The Sufi call the whirling dance-rites samâ, which strictly means listening. In the early part of the day we will practice listening, while learning to play the zaar drum rthythm and intoned NOX mantra. We will then proceed to the techniques of the whirling-Dervish dance, followed by the ritual practicum of the NOX.

Throughout the afternoon we'll examine the Qabalah of the NOX rite, including it's many Tarot and Gematria attributes. We will explore the use of other practical elements such as the magickal correspondences of incense, colour, animal totems and ritual tools.

We will break for dinner around 6pm, using one of the inexpensive local cafe-restaurants for a relaxed meal. Afterwards we will head back to the ritual space eith at Ultimo (or the Sylph gallery when held in Katoomba) to prepare for the ritual.

quoteI have just returned from Euphoria (retreat) and found it so empowering with the Rituals and workshops. I came with an open mind and gained so much with the intiation into NOX and finding the Goddess within and the wild beast in the Baphomet Ritual, not forgetting new and special friends.” – Garry

NIGHT RITUAL

The night is dedicated to the immersion into the NOX rite, as well as a special induction ceremony. You are first admitted to the membership of the Circle followed by a celebration, sharing sheesha, fruits, wines, water and dance. As the zikr ('remembering way') hour arrives, our camp-fires are dowsed revealing the Night.

This ritual event will be a chance to take this night soul-journey via ritual magick and trance work practiced earlier in the day to profoundly deeper levels. From an oasis of soma we will enter the sacred spaces of NOX.

From our experience in group ritual work, these practices are purposely designed to help trigger an inner transofrmative experience necessary for psychic development and true Initiation.

quoteThis weekend has been a mind-blowing, life-changing event. The energy in the rituals was beyond the scale of anything else I have experienced before; the loving, caring community environment made me feel at home.” – Rebecca

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
Most of your practical needs are taken care of so all you need to bring are items of a more personal nature. This is a robed ritual so you will need a robe or other magickal attire and a grimoire (your notebook) – these are the only two essential items. However, if you have any drums, rattles, or manjira (Indian ankle bells) please bring these. In addition, if you enjoy bellydance please bring shimmy, zills, and head-scarfs.
