...so you may Walk the Myth. The MYTH & ARCHETYPE BOOKCASE is your place to explore the sacred, the Mysteries. The Swiss born psychiatrist C.G. Jung has had a profound influence on great minds and writers in fields of Mythology and Psychology. His introduction of the word archetype into modern language has provided a connecting bridge between the realms of dreams, image and myth.
Jung's own life became something of a metaphor for another term he passed on to us, individuation, ie., becoming who we can be through developing wholeness. Jung has shown us how the myths and archetypal themes (primal or inherent potentials) are infused within us at both a personal level, called the Psyche (soul), as well as the aggregate universal, called the Collective Unconscious. The ancient myths resonate with us because they are part of our make-up and they help to shine a light into the Mysteries of life. We humans are meaning-seeking creatures and the study of Myth and Psychology provides a depth of meaning to our lives in response to such questions as, "Who am I?".
In the coming months I will be making many more thoughful additions to our MYTH & ARCHETYPE BOOKCASE with suggestions on what to add to your own collection. These books are the sorts of recommendations I make to students wanting text books to study when they come to do my workshops.
If you have any requests just ask the Curator.
