PROJECT
Promotion and theme aimed at communicating a simple message—
“Witches Think Differently, Witches Live Differently”.
The theme of this short identity promotion project was designed especially for YouTube and seeks to raise awareness about the WitchesWorkshop and it's activities. The WitchesWorkshop has been active for over 10 years, and that's not only something to be proud of, but is also something of a milestone.
Designer Tim Hartridge also wanted to make sure that the image and message communicated exactly what the WitchesWorkshop is about without ‘apology’. Tim stated, "While we can sometimes feel insulated from bigoted attitudes on our own web sites, I've had plenty of firsthand experiences of discrimination for being a Witch. There's still a lot of misunderstanding and ignorance; a large part of which is due to what other religious organisation say about Witches.” Tim said, “The message in the 'promotion’ is to communicate not only what the aims of the WitchesWorkshop is about, but also our right as Witches to be here as 'different' as we are from other forms of spirituality.”
SUMMARY
The WitchesWorkshop/OzPagan web sites and it's social networks were established by Tim Hartridge.
In 1992 the OzPagan Internet List was set-up with the help of Michael Ney. Around 1997 we established OzPagan on the WWW, but it rode on the 'coat-tails' of VRX (multimedia) until 1999 when the domain www.OzPagan.com was purchased. Also in 1999 a new 'eList' was established with the name "WitchesWorkshop", it's role was to broaden the lines of communication with a newly emerging 'online' Pagan community. The web site name change to "www.WitchesWorkshop.com" followed on the continued success of this online 'eList' community.
Today "WitchesWorkshop" has a growing social Pagan network through Facebook and Ning. The now well established 'eList/eGroup' on Yahoo continues to play a significant role in keeping the web site in touch with the community. It uses RSS feeds right into the web pages and has a high level of interactivity for anyone interested in Pagan values and news. The WitchesWorkshop web site is maintained by Tim Hartridge and Tori Collins.
